Festa de' Borg: Fellini's Borgo becomes an open-air theater.

What it is: A legendary party in the city's most charming and fairytale-like neighborhood.
For just one weekend every two years, the historic Borgo San Giuliano - the ancient fishing district much loved by director Federico Fellini, famous for its colorful houses and murals painted on the walls - is closed to traffic and transformed into an immense scenic stage.

The Festa de' Borg is a one-of-a-kind event: amidst narrow alleys and small squares, dozens of street artists, actors, musicians, and performers put on continuous shows from afternoon until late at night. The 2026 edition, titled "The Return of Buffalo Bill – It's the World but Ours," combines the charm of the Wild West, country music, and swing with the culture and folklore of Romagna. The event concludes on Sunday evening with a Pyromusical Show: fireworks and music reflected on the waters of the Piazza sull'Acqua and the Ponte di Tiberio , the majestic 2,000-year-old Roman bridge.
